Every Step, Every Dollar, Every Share Counts

When you look at a big fundraiser, a 5k, or a public campaign, it’s easy to think:
“My little bit won’t make a difference.”

Maybe you can’t give a large donation.
Maybe you can’t travel to the event.
Maybe all you feel like you can do is share a link.

I want you to know: that still matters.

The quiet power of “small” actions

With the Hope Is Here 5k and Team Mama Outspoken, I’ve seen firsthand how “small” actions add up.
  • One person shares a post, and a mom quietly clicks through and finds the helpline she desperately needed.
  • One modest donation, combined with hundreds of others, helps fund training for providers who will screen for perinatal mood and anxiety disorders more thoughtfully.
  • One person decides to walk with us, and invites a friend who has been feeling completely alone in her postpartum experience.

No single action “fixes” everything. But together, they move the needle.

Why your little bit is not little

When we talk about supporting maternal mental health through the Postpartum Resource Center of New York, we’re not talking about abstract numbers.

We’re talking about:
  • A specific parent who calls the helpline on a dark day
  • A specific provider who attends a training and realizes, “I’ve been missing this”
  • A specific mom who sees our posts and finally recognizes herself in the symptoms we’re naming
Your:
  • step
  • dollar
  • share
…can be the one that connects that person to support a bit faster.

This is how “Hope Is Here” actually happens

My campaign Hope Is Here: No Mom Walks Alone isn’t powered by a handful of giant gestures.

It’s powered by:
  • People who show up to walk or run with us at the Hope Is Here 5k
  • People who give what they can, even if it’s not a huge amount
  • People who listen, share, and talk about maternal mental health in their circles
Hope rarely arrives in one big, dramatic rescue. It usually shows up in a series of small, steady actions that add up over time.

You don’t have to do everything. Just something.

If all you’re able to do right now is:
  • Share a link
  • Send an encouraging message
  • Donate a small amount
  • Walk one 5k with us

…that is not nothing. That is participation in a bigger story.

You don’t have to fix maternal mental health. None of us can.

But together, we can move it from silence and stigma toward visibility and support.

Every step, every dollar, every share really does count.
